RONALD CONLEY was a career police officer who served the City of Camden for many years before being struck down at an early age by cancer. He was hired by Camden City Police Department in 1986. He left to take a position with the Washington Township Police Department in 1989, but returned to Camden the following year. He rose through the ranks, with promotions to Detective in December of 1991, Sergeant in December of 1995 and to Lieutenant in November of 2001.
During his time with the Camden Police Department he received numerous commendations for merit and bravery while part of the Patrol Division, Detective’s Bureau, Homicide Division, Member of Narcotics Strike Force and Tactical Force Unit. Ron Conley was also an instructor at the Camden County Police Academy and First Vice President of Camden Organization of Police Superiors.
After a courageous battle with brain cancer, Ronald Conley passed away on May 17, 2006 at the age of 40.
