Missing Boy, 8, Just 'Camping' On Vacant Lot
It may be pretty cold, but 8-year-old William Barber doesn't consider the weather too chill for "camping out."
A worried mother, Mrs. Anna Barber, 214 Ambler street, reported to Camden police late yesterday that William was missing. He had left home for the Grant School, Third and Pearl streets, yesterday morning and hadn't returned, she said.
By 10 o'clock last night, police were beginning to meditate dragging the Delaware river near the Camden shore, in search for William, when a posse of neighbors found him. He had pitched his camp in a vacant lot not far from home. Protected from the cold by his heavy green lumberjacket, he wasn't suffering any.
William went home and the police called off their search.
