Daniel M. Gallucci was born in Camden, New Jersey, on July 11, 1939, to Dominick J. Gallucci and Marietta A. Paradise. The 1940 Census recorded the family living at 1315 Park Boulevard, along with Daniel's maternal aunt, Rose, and her husband, James Fullerton. His younger brother, Michael Gallucci, was born after the Census was taken.
In October 1956, Dominick and Marietta Gallucci purchased a bar at 1855 South 4th Street, located at the southeast corner of South 4th and Emerald Streets in Camden's Eighth Ward, from the Pipito family. They renamed it The Gay Spot Restaurant and Bar and lived in the building's second-floor apartment. The couple continued to run the business and reside there into the 1970s.
Daniel Gallucci left high school after the 11th grade and went on to serve in both the United States Army and the United States Army National Guard. He joined the Camden Fire Department on March 16, 1966, listing his address as 1855 South 4th Street at the time of his appointment.
In the early 1970s, around the time the Camden Fire Department lifted its residency requirements for firefighters, the Gallucci family moved from South 4th Street. By 1993, Daniel had settled in an apartment in Maple Shade, New Jersey. After more than 28 years of service, he retired on August 1, 1994.
His father, Dominick Gallucci, passed away in July 1982, while his mother, Marietta, was living in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, at the time of her passing in 2003.
Daniel Gallucci remained in his Maple Shade apartment until his death on February 9, 2016.
His uncle, Raymond Paradise, had a long career with the Camden Police Department, serving in the K-9 Unit and later as a homicide investigator.
