Frank Truax

Frank Truax was born on September 12, 1882, to Mr. and Mrs. John Truax in Camden, NJ. His father, a trainmaster, had a notable family legacy, with his grandfather Clayton Truax having served two one-year terms as Mayor of Camden in the late 1850s.

According to the 1900 Census, John Truax and his family resided at 636 Mount Vernon Street in Camden's Sixth Ward. Frank Truax, already working as a machinist, continued in this trade when the 1910 Census was conducted. At that time, he was boarding at 1048 South 4th Street and employed in a shipyard. He entered matrimony around 1912, and on April 12, 1917, Frank Truax received an appointment to the Camden Police Department. When he registered for the draft on September 12, 1918, he and his wife Linda were living at 296 Mount Vernon Street.

By the end of 1927, Frank Truax had risen to the rank of Detective, often partnered with Detective Joseph Caputi Sr. According to the 1929 Camden City Directory, Frank and Linda Truax resided at 1139 Kenwood Avenue in Camden's Parkside neighborhood. He achieved the rank of Sergeant on April 9, 1930.

Tragically, Frank Truax passed away in July of 1932. At that time, his widow, Linda, was still residing at 1139 Kenwood Avenue, as indicated in the 1947 Camden City Directory.
