Anthony J. Flemming

Private Anthony J. Flemming (1913–1944) of Camden, NJ, served in Company E, 47th Infantry Regiment, 9th Infantry Division, and was killed in action on November 25, 1944, during the assault on the Siegfried Line in Germany. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

12th Street

Camden has two separate 12th Streets: North Twelfth, which once ran from Federal Street to the Cooper River before being largely erased by highway construction, and South Twelfth, which runs from Fairview Street to Lakeshore Drive and is lined with post-World War II rowhouses.
