Donations

People want to help. Chances are, if you're looking at this page, YOU want to help. And I'm ever grateful.
At the moment, we're not looking to run any campaigns. We're not looking to get rich. The ultimate goal is that the website pays for itself — nothing more and nothing less. This is primarily done via Google advertising. Unfortunately, advertising is a necessary part of offsetting the costs of running the site. The vast majority of any donations will go toward hosting fees or hosting-related upgrades — better servers, more space, faster backups, etc.
Keeping true to Phil's vision, I'm not looking to profit from the site. It's really about sharing and preserving history with the community. As time goes on, the information here becomes more and more valuable. Microfilm degrades. Newspaper degrades. Knowledge degrades. The internet, as far as we know, does not degrade — and that's why we're here!
How to give
We use Buy Me a Coffee, a small-donation service. Give once or monthly by card or phone wallet, and you don’t need an account. Use the coffee-cup button on any page, or go straight to buymeacoffee.com/camdenhistory.
Where it goes
Donations pay for hosting and the tools that keep this archive online: the servers, storage for the scanned clippings and photographs, and the domain. Nothing here is a salary or a campaign, and if donations ever exceed the running costs, the surplus goes back into preserving more of the collection.
Prefer to help another way?
Leave a comment on any page with a correction, a photograph or a family story. Sharing what you know is the biggest help we get. If you’d rather not post publicly, the contact page works too.
