Private Gustave Dziengowski of 1476 Louis Street, Camden, served with the 469th Flying Training Squadron, U.S. Army Air Forces. A Camden High School athlete who worked twelve years for Public Service before his induction in April 1942, he was killed on January 6, 1943 when his B-24D broke up and crashed near White City, Kansas.
415 Market Street, Camden, NJ Camden's first true theater, the Temple Theater, opened in 1892 as a Masonic building. Before it existed, Camden residents had to take a ferry across the Delaware River to see first‑class theatrical productions.
The CAMDEN COMMERCIAL COLLEGE INC., a privately owned and operated business college, had opened its doors in the Temple Theater building at 415 Market Street by 1906.
