Danehower Street first appears in the Camden City Directory of 1863–1864, running between North Front Street and North Second Street in North Camden. It may have been named for prominent Camden businessman George R. Danenhower.

Camden City sold a vacant lot at 123–127 Danehower Street at public auction, leaving El Centro Comunal Borincano Day Care Center without a nearby playground for its 23 preschoolers despite repeated appeals to city officials.
