Doris Convicted at Quick Trial; Gets Ten Years
John Doris, 30, a Philadelphia gangster, was tried, convicted and sentenced by Judge Samuel M. Shay to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison for the April 29 shooting of Joseph Connors in Kaighn avenue near Broadway; his wife fainted in court as the penalty was set.
