30 Units to Attend Giant Field Mass

30 UNITS TO ATTEND GIANT FIELD MASS Legion Post Sponsors Ceremony to Be Held Sunday at Maple Shade More than 30 veterans' organizations, including survivors of the Boxer uprising; Dewey Congressional Medal Men's Association, French, Italian and British veterans of the World War, V. F. W., posts and the American Legion and auxiliaries will attend a giant field mass at Maple Shade Sunday. The event, staged under auspices of Antrim-Mentz Post of the legion, will be viewed by state officers of the V. F. W., Legion and other service groups, with 10 musical organizations in attendance. Activities include a street parade from the post home at Pine street and Maple avenue to Forklanding road, where a reviewing stand has been erected. Mass will be celebrated in the field adjacent to Poplar and Maple avenues. After services at the field, prizes will be awarded to marching clubs and musical organizations. The parade will start at 10.30 a. m. Included among the organizations to take part are: Palmyra, Bordentown, Fairview and Delaware Gardens drum and bugle corps of the American Legion, Gross-Hollingshead, Matthew-Purnell and Sparrow Ship posts, V. F. W., and several veterans' groups from Philadelphia, including the Imperial Order of Dragoons. Among the prominent veterans' officials to attend are: J. Rex McCrosson, department commander of the legion; John Whomsley, executive committeeman of Burlington; John Thornburg, Burlington county chairman; Charles Connors, deputy state inspector of the V. F. W.; Mrs. Florence Stark, past national president of V. F. W. Auxiliary; Mrs. Mary Patterson, past state treasurer; Frank Hallowell, past county commander of the legion, and Howard Bien, past commander of Post 518, V. F. W.
