A prep school student by day and a burglar by night is being held by Camden police after confessing he robbed 22 suburban homes during the past three months. For weeks Charles Lynch, 17, of 748 Carman street, played the role of a "lone wolf" in burglarizing homes in Collingswood, Westmont, Haddonfield and Woodlynne, later taking on a confederate, according to a confession made to City Detectives Clifford Carr and Clarence Arthur. Lynch robbed to obtain sufficient funds to pay $300 for his education at the Lincoln Preparatory School, 717 Spruce street, Philadelphia, he told Carr and Arthur. He enrolled a year ago for a night course but when he turned burglar he obtained enough money from the loot to change to a day course so that he might continue his robberies at night, Lynch told police. He has never been arrested before.
