Charged with homicide for the killing of Clinton R. Roberts, colored, who he caught robbing the hennery at his home, Antonio Speer, 38 years old, of 1209 South Eighth street, was yesterday held without bail by Recorder Starkhouse. The complaint was made by Captain of Detectives Schregler. Speer admitted that he shot Roberts and said he fired when he feared the negro would attack him. Supreme Court Justice Katzenbach will be asked to admit Speer to bail.
