FINAL TRIBUTE IS PAID CORPORAL 'BUCKY' WARD
Corporal John W. "Bucky" Ward, Camden's own soldier of fortune and war hero, was buried yesterday, with ceremony befitting his career. After solemn requiem high mass at Holy Name Church, burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Services at the home of Ward's sister, Mrs. Mary Wallace, 529 Birch street, were attended by hundreds of friends and acquaintances of the dead man, whose body had been sent half way around the world for burial here.
He died October 9 in Honolulu, and was 56. In June of next year he would have retired from the United States Army, in which he had served almost 40 years.
