GAS STOVE EXPLOSION WELCOMES PAIR HOME
Fred Strahle, 32, his wife, Thelma, same age, and their two children were given a "warm" reception last night when they returned home from a vacation in the mountains of Pennsylvania.
The gas stove in their home at 1017 North Twenty-eighth street, blew up when Strahle attempted to light the pilot.
Mrs. Strahle screamed, ran for a telephone and called city firemen. Strahle did some quick thinking, yanked a small rug off the dining room floor and smothered the flames. Firemen arrived but did not go into action. Strahle said it appeared the pilot had sprung a leak.
