Millville, Aug. 5 - Johnny Lucas, of Camden, won a popular decision over Ray Gadsby here tonight tn the eight-round windup at the Millville Punchbowl. More than 100 fans gathered to witness the bout.

Camden Mauler Gets Popular Decision Over Ray Gadsby in Punchbowl Windup

Millville, Aug. 5 – Johnny Lucas, of Camden, won a popular decision over Ray Gadsby here tonight tn the eight-round windup at the Millville Punchbowl. More than 100 fans gathered to witness the bout.

The Camden battler carried the fight all the way through his terrific body punches coming in for most of the offensive work accredited to the winner. Fight met the fancy of the fans and both lads put up a real battle.

In the semi-windup, George Jackson, another Camden mittman, won a technical knockout over Harry Taggart of Phoenixville, after the latter refused to continue the bout in the fourth round.

Young Ace Hudkins won a referee’s decision over Joey Allen, of Camden, in the main preliminary. Al Daley of Camden won from Lew Coogan, Atlantic City, in another of the preliminary battles when Referee John Shannon stopped the bout in the fifth.

Johnny Mandell, 119, of Gloucester, defeated Willie Herman of Philadelphia in the four-round curtain raiser on <illegible>.
