Mate Sues Beautician, Charges Home Neglect

His wife spent her time arranging stylish coiffures for her neighbors while the household fell into a state of neglect declared Herbert G. Meeks, of 1017 North Thirty-fifth Street, before Advisory Master William B. Knight in Chancery Court today.

Mrs. Catherine Meeks, whose present address is Devereaux and Cottage streets, Philadelphia, finally opened a beauty shop of her own, informed her husband that their marriage was “washed up” and went her way, he said.

Meeks declared he tried to effect a reconciliation numerous times but to no avail. The couple was married in 1926 and separated in 1935. The man also testified that his wife went to dances three nights a week and sometimes didn't return home until the next day. Knight recommended a divorce decree.
