Motorcop Gives Blood 25th Time to 'Save' Patient in Operation
Motorcycle Patrolman Earl Wright gave a pint of his blood yesterday in a transfusion to a Camden bank employe about to be operated upon at Cooper Hospital.
The recipient of the blood was William Canning, of 4115 Carman street, employed as a bookkeeper at the First National State Trust Company.
Canning was about to undergo the operation when it was discovered he was not strong enough to stand the ordeal and the hospital called for blood volunteers.
It was the 25th time in the last few years that Wright has offered his blood, and it has been accepted, for blood transfusions.
Canning was reported "resting quietly" at the hospital last night.
