POLICE MAKE A RAID.
This Time They Broke Up an Infamous Colored Den.
The police made another raid Saturday night. This time it was on a disorderly house at No. 1065 Diamond street kept by Charles Purnell, colored. Among those captured in addition to the proprietor were Carrie Green, of No. 721 Baxter street, and James McDonald, white; Mary Todd, Charles Monroe and Alexander Coffee, colored.
At the hearing this morning Purnell pleaded guilty to keeping a disorderly house and Mayor Westcott committed him in default of $500 bail. The others were sentenced to pay a fine or spend twenty days in the county jail.
