Anticipating making a large number of arrests, Police Captain Stanley and a squad of officers yesterday made a descent on the house of Tony Gardene, 1700 Master street, Camden, where an alleged speak-easy was in operation. When the policemen entered the house they found Gardene and a friend, no one else being in evidence. Gardene was arrested on a charge of keeping a disorderly house. Five cases of beer and a quantity of whisky were confiscated.
