Services Are Planned for Sgt. Wesley Faust
Funeral services for Sgt. Wesley Faust, a seven-year veteran of the New Hanover Police Department, will be 10 a.m. Thursday from Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, 111 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown.
The Rev. Charles J. DeBoeser Jr., assistant pastor of Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Boyertown, will officiate.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Bechtelsville.
Mr. Faust, 54, Evans Road, Perkiomenville, died in the emergency ward of Pottstown Memorial Medical Center Sunday afternoon.
Born in Camden, N.J., Mr. Faust was a son of the late Ambrose and Mabel (Eaton) Faust.
He was a graduate of Camden High School, class of 1940, and also a graduate of the police and fire department school of Camden.
In addition, Mr. Faust took several advance courses in criminology in Pennsylvania.
For 10 years, Mr. Faust served on the Camden City Fire Department. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, receiving a Purple Heart while serving in the Pacific Theatre.
In addition to serving as police sergeant in New Hanover Township for seven years, Mr. Faust was coordinator of the township's Civil Defense program.
He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and a life and charter member of the New Hanover Fire Co.
