View transcription
Mrs. Lizzie Blackmore, of 1223 Kimball street, Philadelphia, would have committed suicide in the city jail in Camden early yesterday morning, but for the vigilance of Sergeant Schregler and Hall Officer McClong. The latter found the woman hanging from the bars with her skirt wrapped about her throat. She was unconscious when cut down but quickly revived. Less than an hour later Sergeant Schregler discovered her entirely nude with her undershirt knotted about her throat. Recorder Stackhouse sent her back to Philadelphia.
