Wimer Appointed as County Manager

Kausel Given Leave of Absence and Miss Denery Is Made Acting Head Until March 15

The Camden County Board of Freeholders late yesterday confirmed the appointment of William E. Wimer as general manager of Camden county institutions.

Theodore T. Kausel, who tendered his resignation January 1 to become effective March 15, was granted a leave of absence dating from February 1. Miss E. M. Denery, chief clerk, was designated acting general manager to serve until Wimer takes office March 15.

Dr. Leslie H. Ewing, director of the board, and Horace G. Githens floor leader, announced the appointment of Wimer is from month to month and he will receive instructions from the central plant committee of the board. Wimer was selected at a caucus of the board last Friday night after Freeholder William J. Dallas withdrew as a candidate.

The board confirmed the appointment of Miss Thelma Marie Gilmor, Gloucester, as clerk in the prosecutor's office at a salary of $1200 yearly.

The court house annex committee was authorized to advertise for bids for steel furniture to be installed in the offices of Vice Chancellor Leaming; surrogate, register of deeds and county clerk in the new building. The property committee was authorized to advertise for bids for 400 tons of coal for the present courthouse. A contract for 4000 tons of coal for the central plant was warded to Kilroy Coal and Coke Company for $17,000 or $4.27 a ton.

A resolution was passed requesting the State Highway Commission to designate that Route S42 follow the Milford-Berlin road parallel with the Camden and Atlantic Railroad to the Bishop's bridge underpass. The county agrees to obtain a 66 feet right of way for the road.

A resolution was approved authorizing the county treasurer to borrow$ 100,000 in anticipation of taxes. The purchase of an automobile costing $1500 for the bridge committee was authorized.
