When Florence Clinton, aged 16 years, of 878 Ferry avenue, awoke yesterday she found a man with a wooden leg asleep on the floor and snoring loudly. She screamed for help and her father and brother came to her aid and turned the man over to a policeman. When arraigned before Recorder Stackhouse he said he was John Lavin. He claimed that he drank too much and that a friend took him into the house. Recorder Stackhouse committed him to the county jail in default of $500 bail on a charge of breaking and entering with intent to steal.
