William Stanley Ablett Village is a 306-unit public housing project at River Road and State Street in the Cramer Hill section of Camden, built by the Housing Authority of the City of Camden during World War II and named for a Camden soldier killed in action in France during World War I.
Built in 1913 as the Eastside Elementary School in the 2800 block of Mickle Street, later renamed Alfred Cramer Junior High School in honor of the East Camden real estate developer. It served East Camden students for generations before returning to an elementary school around 1957.
28th Street runs from the Delaware River south, across River Road to the Pavonia railroad switching yard, then to Westfield Avenue, Federal Street and Washington Street. It is North 28th Street above Federal and South 28th below.
Twenty-First Street runs through Cramer Hill and into East Camden, extending from Harrison Avenue to Federal Street, established by the 1887–1888 Camden City Directory.
The Cramer Parent-Teacher Association's Study Group meets at the home of Mrs. Samuel Smith, 327 Morse Street. The executive board meets the following day at 15 North Twenty-eighth Street to discuss the membership drive.
