Sigmund "Sig" Schoenagle was born in Vienna, Austria, around 1875. As a young man, he immigrated to America and settled in Camden, NJ. In 1894, he established a haberdashery at the southwest corner of 3rd and Federal Streets .
STEPHEN PARSONS came to Camden in 1844. He operated a hotel at Federal Street and Front Street , near the Federal Street Ferry with partner Richard Cake which was known as Woolston's Hotel.
The Hotel Ridgway at Delaware Avenue and Market Street in Camden, NJ, was built in 1849 as the West Jersey Hotel and operated into the 1950s.
JOHNNY TOOMEY was the ring name of Philip John Carlin Jr., one of the three brothers from Camden NJ who fought under the surname Toomey, the others being his older half-brothers Daniel "Danny" Toomey and William "Billy" Toomey.
The West Jersey Hotel at Delaware Avenue and Market Street was built by the West Jersey Ferry Company in 1849. The name was changed to new Camden Hotel in 1909.
