Morris McMeekin Odell was born June 24, 1915 in Camden, New Jersey, and was appointed to the Camden Fire Department on July 31, 1941. He served as Battalion Chief's Aide and Chief Engineer's Aide before retiring around 1968. He died February 4, 1980.
Bridge Avenue was one of Camden's most notable thoroughfares, lying between Federal and Mickle Streets. By 1947 only the block east of South 8th Street remained, and that too has long since vanished.
William Van Pfefferle was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 17, 1891. William Van Pfefferle married Elsie Maxwell. Her father, Joseph Maxwell , was a career Camden Fire Department fire fighter.
Advisory Committee Will Present Formal Invitation for State Meet The twenty-first annual reunion and the convention of the New Jersey State Elks Association will be held in Camden next June if efforts of the advisory board of Camden Lodge of Elks are successful at the state meeting in Newark on June 15, 16 and 17.
