4 YOUTHS GUILTY IN ASSAULT CASE Liable to Maximum Penalty of 35 Years for Attack on Girl After deliberating one hour and 45 minutes a Criminal Court jury late yesterday found four South Camden young men guilty of criminally assaulting a pretty Pennsauken township girl. Sentence will be imposed tomorrow by Judge Samuel M. Shay, who presided at the two days' trial. The youths were convicted on five indictments each. Assistant Prosecutor Rocco Palese, who prosecuted them, said they were liable to a maximum penalty of 35 years in state prison. The girl who collapsed on the witness stand while testifying against the four men is Miss Martha Tomlinson, 18. During her recital of the attack she broke down and Judge Shay ordered a recess until the young woman could regain her composure. The defendants are: William Lopergola, 420 Royden street; Tony Basile, 419 Clinton street; Joseph Girgenti, 305 Benson street, and Frank Corafolo, 210 Senate street, all in their early twenties. The youths took the stand in their own defense yesterday afternoon and admitted the attack but denied criminal intent.
