Harry Lipp, 84, ended his life yesterday by shooting himself through the temple with a 38-calibre revolver in a garage in the rear of the home of William Getner, a city fireman, of 1205 North Twenty-sixth street.
Lipp had boarded at the Getner home 17 years. Mrs. Gertrude Getner, wife of the fireman, told Coroner Harry Leonard her brother, George Selah, of 918 Vine street, discovered the body at 3.30 p. m. and notified police. Leonard issued a certificate of suicidal death.
The body was removed to Cooper Hospital. Selah said he went to the garage to get some paint and found Lipp still clutching the revolver. Police said two discharged shells and one good one were found in the chambers of the weapon.
Lipp, an old age pensioner, left no note giving the reason for his act.
