Allen and Callahan To-night

Allen and Callahan To-night The contest between Joe Allen and Tim Callahan, Philadelphia's premier feather weights, which has created so much interest and discussion in pugilistic circles, will come off to-night. The two crack boxers will meet at the Globe Theatre, Third and Green streets, and a lively mill may be looked for. Callahan and Allen are bitter rivals, and as both have trained faithfully and are in good condition, an interesting bout will undoubtedly be witnessed. An attractive list of preliminary contests has been arranged. In the opening contest Johnnie Devine will meet Young Whistler, a brother of the famous Billy, while Billy Ferro and Young Marshall will be the principals in the second contest. Dan McConnell and Dan Danvers will clash in the third contest, while Joe Sullivan, the very promising Gloucester featherweight, will meet Lew Ryall in the semi-windup.
