The Republicans last night placed in nomination delegates to be elected to attend the Assembly Convention, which will be held in this city on October 17. The election of the delegates will take place on Monday next. The following nominations were made at last night's meeting, most of whom are for Derousse, Scovel and Lloyd:
First Ward—William H. Ketler, Charles Van Dyke Joline, John H. Burnheiser.
Second Ward—R. Starr Keeler, Walter Skinner, Edward Mundy.
Third Ward—Theodore N. Patterson, Jeseph P. Long [sic], Wm. W. Sawyer.
Fourth Ward—Thomas Walls, Walter Edwards, Irving Buckle.
Fifth Ward—Frederick Wickers, Wm. Laughlin, Isaac Weaver.
Sixth Ward—Charles Haydon, Walter Taylor, Stephen Phipps.
Seventh Ward—Thomas Penn, F. B. Kauffman, Lorenzo Berry.
Eighth Ward—C. L. Guest, Harry Countiss, Wm. Ryan, James J. Friehl, F. Walter Toms, Isaiah Holden, Wm. Peall, John Buchannan.
Ninth Ward—Crawford Miller, John D. Sargent, Bartlett H. Fogg.
POLITICAL NOTES.
The Americus Club last night held a ratification meeting. The presiding officer was ex-Chief of the Democratic Police Force W. H. Davis. Addresses were made by Charles E. Hendrickson, Judge Howard Carrow, Wm. J. Kraft and Frederick Bourquin. Hon. John W. Hood was called upon to explain the workings of the new registration law, but he requested W. J. Kraft to expound it. Mr. Kraft did so in a very able and comprehensive manner.
