Camden Lad Gives Vacation Savings To Help Veterans

Paul Rothman, 11, of 2596 Baird boulevard, yesterday visited the Camden bonus camp with $5.20 tightly clutched in his hands. The money represented savings he planned to spend on a vacation trip this year, but Paul was touched by stories of hardship the veterans are facing and he expressed a desire to do his bit.
His father, William Rothman, proprietor of the Barrett Tire Shop, 560 Carman street, took 500 bags of tobacco to the veterans. Rothman and his son were accompanied by Charles Harlacher, of the Camden Duplicating Company, 720 Federal street.
On arrival at the camp young Paul learned that tooth paste was sorely needed by the veterans and he spent his savings for more than 50 small tubes of this requisite. A large group of the bonus seekers gave the boy and his father resounding cheers of appreciation.
