Nearly $40,000 was taken in by Assistant Tax Receiver Elfreth yesterday in Camden. The rush of taxpayers to escape paying the penalty begins in the morning and continues until night.
The Camden corps of the Salvation Army is preparing to give Christmas dinners to 1000 persons.
Julia Simmons, who was married in the county jail two weeks ago, was taken to Trenton yesterday to serve a year in the State prison for robbing Hyman Denbow.
