Cemetery Chapels Gain in Use for Weddings

Cemetery chapels of today cover a far-reaching moral influence in addition to use for funerals, according to James O'Neill, representing Lakeview Memorial Park, speaking before the Camden Lions Club at Hotel Walt Whitman yesterday.
"With the advent of structures of beauty in memorial chapels," O'Neill said, "hundreds of marriages are being performed for couples who desire sacred surroundings minus formalities of churches."
The speaker quoted statistics of chapel marriages in other parts of the country to show a steady increase in this use of the structures.
Announcement of the election of Dr. Thomas Lewis, I. D. Gindhart, Max Reihmann and Harold Leach as directors was made following the meeting.
Acting Chairman John Gilliam announced the annual regional field day to be staged at Silver Lake Park next Wednesday, when six South Jersey clubs will participate in sports.
