Court Postpones Case of Indian Husband
Hearing of William May, 54, an Indian, of 2218 Berwick street, on a charge of disorderly conduct preferred by his wife, Anna, has been postponed by Police Judge Pancoast until today.
May was committed to jail pending the hearing after he is alleged to have attempted to choke his wife during a quarrel. He had thrown her to the floor, she said, when their daughter, Myrtle, 16, struck him on the head with a glass.
May was arrested by Policeman William Turner. He was treated at Cooper Hospital for cuts on the head. His hearing was postponed yesterday when his wife was unable to appear because of the illness of two children.
