Camp Visitor, 14, Drowns in Lake

A 14-year-old Camden boy drowned over the weekend while swimming in a lake at Camp Holybrook in Morris River Township south of Millville.

Edward Flowers, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Flowers of 334 10th St., Camden, was visiting the camp with the South Jersey Karate Club of Collingswood. He was swimming with several other boys during a recess when he disappeared under water, according to state police of the Port Norris barracks.

Robert R. Grablow, 28, of Moorestown, pulled the boy from the water shortly after he disappeared Saturday, but attempts to revive him were in vain.

Meanwhile, two men who suffered broken necks in accidents Friday remained in Burlington County Hospital. In fair condition after being injured in separate swimming accidents were Richard C. Brunkow, 15, of 617 Howell Road, Mt. Holly, and Ernest J. Coswell, 22, of Flyatt Road, Medford Farms.
