Friends Fete Sailor From Pearl Harbor

Back from Pearl Harbor where he was with the U.S. naval forces which were attacked by the Japanese on December 7, Joseph Piotrowski was given a welcome home party last night at the home of his mother, Mrs. Jessie Piotrowski, 1167 Chase Street.

Reticent to discuss the “sneak attack” beyond saying it caught the American defenders completely by surprise, Piotrowski said morale on the islands was high and that every American sailor who he has come in contact with is anxious to get a “crack at those Japs.”
