Hold Woman's Assailant
On information received, Policeman Frank Truax appeared in the Camden Police Court yesterday and caused Jacob Ballerstein, 47 years old, of 1149 Baring street, to be held in $200 bail on a charge of assault and battery on Mrs. Rebecca Hoffman, wife of a saloonkeeper on Second street and Kaighn avenue. The policeman testified that when he was attracted to the side of the saloon he was informed that the defendant struck the woman over the head with a broom, inflicting such an injury that Dr. R. I. Haines had to be summoned.
