Man’s Head Cut Off By N.Y. – Camden Train

Camden Courier-Post – April 2, 1928

Albert Carpenter, 40, 2928 Mitchell street, was killed instantly yesterday by a New York-Camden train of the Amboy division, Pennsylvania Railroad, at Thirty-second street.

The man was picking coal from the ground at the side of a coal car near the tracks along which the train was coming. He is believed to have stumbled into the engine’s path.

S.M. Patterson, engineer, said he did not see the man. Carpenter was decapitated. A wife and two sons survive.
