McCormick vs. Strong To-night There will be heavy weights galore at the Quaker City Athletic Club to-night, and the patrons of boxing will be treated to two six-round bouts between big fellows. The wind-up will be between Charley Strong, the big colored boxer from Newark, N. J., and Jack McCormick, the heavy weight champion of Pennsylvania. The semi-wind-up will be between Joe Welzer, Jack Lynch's champion heavy weight of Hazleton, who has whipped everybody up that way, and Billy Mclean's big black Ed Smith, who has been coming to the front rapidly of late. The other bouts are all warm ones. The men who are matched are Professor Jack Lynch, the clever Hazleton feather weight, and Adam Ryan, a Quaker City Club favorite. Dan McConnell, of Camden, is down for a contest with Howard Wilson, the husky little colored light weight from Washington. George Franklin, of Slatington, and Fred Stricker, the Dutchman, who have been matched several times, will come together this time, and there will be lively boxing.
