NORTON AND M'CONNELL They Will Meet in a Six-Round Bout on Thursday Night An event that is causing a considerable amount of talk at present is the six-round bout between Charles Norton, Billy Wilson's lightweight champion, and Dan McConnell, lightweight champion of New Jersey, which takes place at the Globe Theatre next Thursday evening, December 21. Norton, who for the past two years has been defeating all the best 135-pound amateur boxers that could be produced, has proved himself to be in a class above, and has accordingly accepted McConnell's defi to any light-weight boxer in the country. McConnell is a very aggressive fighter, and has defeated some of the best lightweights in the city, and can always be relied upon to give a good account of himself. In Norton he will find that he is up against a man of a different calibre than any he has yet met, as Norton is a boxer who always keeps himself in good shape, and will be prepared to give McConnell the battle of his life, as he is very anxious that his first professional fight shall be recorded as a victory. As both are very aggressive fighters this contest should prove to be a corker.
