Police Blame Tramps for Fires in Houses

View transcription
Camden's police are investigating two fires that threatened to burn down four dwellings from 2611 to 2617 Howell street early yesterday. These dwellings, all vacant and under what was formerly Enterprise Hall, were found ablaze on the first occasion in the front and after a brief battle the firemen extinguished the fire. The firemen had no sooner returned to their houses than fire was discovered in the rear of the houses and this was also put out in quick order. It is the belief of the police that tramps were in the places and caused the fires.
