More Men Put to Work and No Trouble Occurs
Thirty men were put at work yesterday on the big gas holder being constructed at Locust and Walnut streets, Camden, in place of the striking riveters. Eighty men from the Camden Iron Works assisted them in lowering the base of the tank.
It was expected trouble would ensue between the workmen and the strikers, but Chief of Police John Foster had a large squad of officers at the scene all day preventing any disturbance.
George Daly, one of the strikers, was held in $600 bail by Recorder Stackhouse, charged with assaulting Edward S. Strang and Charles F. Watkins.
