Policeman Chambers Suspended for Misconduct

•• Policeman John Chambers, of the Seventh ward, Camden, was suspended until trial by the Police Committee of City Council, by Mayor Nowrey, yesterday. The report of Captain Stanley to the Mayor charged Chambers with being intoxicated while on duty on Friday. When brought before the Mayor yesterday the policeman said he was not drunk, but exhausted by the loss of sleep while doing extra duty at a colored ball.
