Raid on a Baxter Street House
Police Captain Stanley and a squad of officers early yesterday morning raided a house on Baxter street, Camden, alleged to be kept by Edward Jackson and Mame Douglas, both colored. Besides the alleged proprietors the police arrested Louis Smith, Benjamin Jenkins, Mary Burk and Ida Phillips, also colored. The warrant was issued by Recorder Stackhouse on complaint of Police Sergeant Hyde.
