Technician Fourth Class Isaac Z. Gosling (1911–1942) was born in Camden to Boston and Elizabeth Gosling; the family had moved to 118 North 23rd Street by September 1918. Called to service in March 1941, he died of pneumonia in England on September 3, 1942 while serving with the 85th Quartermaster Depot Supply Company, and was buried at Beverly National Cemetery in 1949.
Ray Street is a one-block street running north from Pearl Street to Elm Street, between Borton Street and North 9th Street. It first appeared in city directories in 1890 and is named for Mrs. "Ray" Cox, wife of developer Charles W. Cox.
Erie Street in North Camden runs from Beach Avenue to 9th Street, crossing Delaware Avenue, Point, Front, Segal, and the numbered streets 2nd through 9th.
Borton Street ran for one block north from Pearl Street to Elm Street in North Camden. Named after Joshua Borton, best man at developer Charles W. Cox's wedding. The last house, 528 Borton Street, was lost to fire on June 1, 2008.
Beckett Street, named for Henry and Mary Beckett who owned land in South Camden around 1853, originally ran from Front Street to West Street. After 1947 the eastern portion was demolished for an industrial building; today it runs only from South 3rd Street to West Street.
Clare Street is a one-block thoroughfare in South Camden, running from Pine Street to Division Street. Originally called Pine Avenue, it was renamed Clare Street between 1878 and 1890, then later renamed Jesthroe Hunt Sr. Lane in honor of a Camden firefighter who passed away in 2005.
Arch Street ran from Delaware Avenue to North 5th Street between Federal and Market Streets in downtown Camden. Formerly known as Plum Street, it was home to Oetzel's Saloon, the Genova Cafe, the Collings Carriage Company, and the Camden Fire Department headquarters at 5th and Arch.

Julius Carter, 16, of 1288 Van Hook Street, was found unconscious from drinking in a vacant house at 534 Ray Street by Motorcycle Patrolman Earl Wright, and sentenced to 30 days by Judge Garfield Pancoast.
Police Judge Garfield Pancoast sentenced Emil Hatter to 50 days and two men found in his speakeasy — including Edward Mackay of 531 Ray Street — to 60 days each after they denied buying drinks there.
Dominic Olivette, 28, of 444 Royden Street, pleaded non vult to operating a numbers headquarters and was fined $100 with a suspended sentence. Herbert Lantry, 35, of 519 Ray Street, received a separate fine.
Six men arrested in a Saturday raid at 140 North Twenty-second Street, where 135 bottles of home brew and two quarts of liquor were found, paid a total of $225 in fines.

Officer Benjamin Middleton responded to a shooting and slashing at 527 Ray Street, the home of Nellie Walker, where a man named Mason attacked his wife. The woman was taken to Cooper Hospital in critical condition.
