Clare Street

Clare Street is a one-block thoroughfare that runs south, from 338 Pine Street to 335 Division Street, in South Camden. It was originally called Pine Avenue, and appears to have been renamed between 1878 and late 1889 or early 1890.

Concerning the Clare Street listings in the 1887–1888 and 1888–1889 directories, the house number patterns are inconsistent with the location. The 1890–1891 directories have the proper house numbers.

By 2010, if not sooner, there were no homes remaining on Clare Street. Clare Street was renamed Jesthroe Hunt Sr. Lane by the City of Camden to memorialize former Camden Fire department member Jesthroe Hunt Sr. after his passing in 2005.
