2 Policemen Hurt by Prisoners Here
Two policemen were injured early yesterday as a result of battles with alleged drunken prisoners at police headquarters.
Earl Wright, 30, of 535 Fulton place, suffered a fractured nose when Frank Wade, 35, of West and Mickle streets, struck him. Wright was treated at Cooper Hospital. He said the man, who had been arrested as drunk and disorderly, fell and when he tried to assist him to his feet he struck him.
Acting Desk Sergeant Frank Evans was kicked on an injured leg and was treated at Cooper Hospital. Thomas Golden, 57, of 636 Birch street, is said to have attacked Evans, whose leg was injured in a motorcycle accident a year ago. Evans and Lieut. George Ward subdued the prisoner and placed him in a cell.
