Argument of Women Upsets Police Court
Two women staged such a fierce verbal battle in police court yesterday that Judge Garfield Pancoast, after dismissing the case, detained one of them an hour, so they would not resume their fight outside.
The contestants were Mildred Russo, 22, of 425 Winslow street, and Mary Delfico, of 348 Clinton street. The latter was arrested on complaint of Miss Russo, who said she slapped her and scratched her.
They calmed down long enough to tell Judge Pancoast that Mildred is a forelady in a factory from which Mary was dismissed recently. Mary blamed Mildred for her lay-off and came up to the plant and attacked her, Mildred said. The other denied it, claiming that Mildred started the fight.
