Camden Market For Farmers Open At 3rd and Pearl
The farmer's market at Third and Pearl streets, under Camden Bridge, was formally opened at 4 p. m. yesterday with more than 50 farmers occupying stalls.
Because of rigid rules adopted in protection of consumers, the market has proved popular with Camden residents since it opened last year.
The market is under supervision of the city and no farmer may occupy a stall unless he certifies that he has grown 75 percent of the produce he offers for sale. Anything not grown by the farmer must be bought in New Jersey.
The market will be open from 4.30 p. m. to 10 p. m., except on Saturday, when it will open at 2 p. m. The stalls are rented by the farmers by the month, week or night. Various farmers retained stalls in the market throughout the Winter.
