Camden's Sunday Crusade Revived
Captain of Police Stanley, of Camden, has begun a crusade against small shopkeepers, who, it is alleged, have been selling candy, cigars and the like on Sunday. Yesterday eight dealers were brought before Recorder Stackhouse. M. A. Makarowski, of Second and Chestnut streets, pleaded guilty to selling confectionery and was fined $10. Joseph Greenburg, of Cresson and Chestnut streets, pleaded guilty to selling candy and was fined $10. The others pleaded not guilty and the cases were set down for a hearing on Tuesday.
